Similarity and AI Tools Policy

Similarity Policy

All submitted manuscripts must be original and free of plagiarism. Before submitting, authors are strongly encouraged to run their work through plagiarism detection software. The overall similarity index must not be higher than 20%, with the reference list excluded from the calculation.

Before a manuscript moves on to peer review, the editorial team checks its originality using Turnitin.

Authors should also avoid copying images from other works. Wherever possible, figures should be redrawn or created from scratch. If an image from another source is used, the author must cite it properly, obtain the necessary permission, and comply fully with copyright requirements.

Transparency in the Use of AI Tools

Authors are encouraged to state in the Acknowledgement section whether any AI tools were used in preparing the manuscript. This covers, among other things, tools used for language editing, structuring the presentation of the authorsโ€™ own ideas, supporting data analysis, or generating figures. AI tools may be used, provided they are never used to manipulate or fabricate data. Their role should mainly be to support writing and improve language, while the authors remain fully responsible for the originality of the ideas and for the accuracy, content, and integrity of the manuscript. Being open about AI use supports the integrity, accountability, and reproducibility of scientific research.
